In just the past year, thanks to the help of our team and our guests, we’ve recycled more than 1,216 pounds of waste that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill.
What Is Green Circle Salons?
Green Circle Salons is a certified B Corporation that helps salons across North America recover, recycle, and repurpose up to 95% of their beauty waste.
This includes everything from hair clippings and used foils to excess color, gloves, and even PPE.
Rather than throwing these materials away, Green Circle collects them and finds innovative ways to give them a second life—like turning hair into mats used to soak up oil spills or transforming metals into new products.
At Willow, we’ve partnered with Green Circle to make sure we’re part of the solution, not the problem.
Our Commitment to Green Beauty
Our commitment to sustainability runs deep. Here’s what we’re proud to do every day at Willow:
- Recycle Hair, Metals, Plastics, and More: From color tubes to clippings, we ensure nearly everything possible gets collected and repurposed.
- Minimize Chemical Waste: We work to reduce excess color and responsibly dispose of anything that can’t be reused.
- Choose Eco-Conscious Brands: Many of the lines we carry prioritize clean ingredients, cruelty-free practices, and responsible packaging.
- Educate Our Guests: We believe that small changes lead to big impact, and we love sharing simple ways to make beauty routines more sustainable.
In just one year, these practices allowed us to divert 1,216 pounds of waste from landfills—and that number keeps growing.

♻️ What We Recycle as a Green Circle Salon
- Hair Clippings
Collected and transformed into mats used to clean up oil spills or support environmental cleanup efforts—preventing methane-producing waste in landfills. - Excess Hair Color, Lightener & Toner
Kept out of our water systems and soil by being safely disposed of and diverted from the drain. - Used Metals (like foils and color tubes)
Recycled and melted down to create new products—instead of heading to landfills, where over 110,000 lbs of salon metal waste is dumped daily. - PPE Waste (gloves, masks, wipes)
Safely recovered and processed into reusable materials through specialized recycling programs—helping offset biohazardous-related waste. - Single-Use Items
Things like waxing strips, cotton swabs, and nail files are recovered to reduce the amount of daily salon waste that ends up in landfills. - Papers & Plastics
Recycled through Green Circle’s program, especially for salons that don’t have access to local recycling. These make up over half of a salon’s typical waste.
